چکیده

In transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs), charge carriers have spin, pseudospin, and valley degrees of freedom associated with magnetic moments. The monolayers bilayers the TMDCs, in particular, MoS2, lead to strong couplings between spin pseudospin effects. This feature has drawn attention TMDCs for their potential use advanced tech devices. Meanwhile, high-order harmonic generation (HHG) recently been applied characterization electronic structure solids, such as energy dispersion, Berry-curvature, topological properties. Here, we show theoretical results obtained ‘philosophy’ using HHG investigate structural effects monolayer MoS2 on nonlinear optical emission. We a simple model 3R AB staking. find that indexes (the Berry curvature dipole matrix element) TMDC driven by circularly polarized laser (CPL) can encode high-energy photon emissions. investigation is expected pave way ultrafast manipulation valleytronics new questions concerning spin-obit-coupling (SOC) materials, Weyl Semimetals, phases transitions insulators.

Electrical generation and control of the valley carriers in a monolayer transition metal dichalcogenide.

Electrically controlling the flow of charge carriers is the foundation of modern electronics. By accessing the extra spin degree of freedom (DOF) in electronics, spintronics allows for information processes such as magnetoresistive random-access memory. Recently, atomic membranes of transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs) were found to support unequal and distinguishable carrier distribution i...

Second harmonic generation from artificially stacked transition metal dichalcogenide twisted bilayers.

Optical second harmonic generation (SHG) is known as a sensitive probe to the crystalline symmetry of few-layer transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs). Layer-number dependent and polarization resolved SHG have been observed for the special case of Bernal stacked few-layer TMDs, but it remains largely unexplored for structures deviated from this ideal stacking order. Here we report on the SHG f...

Computational Study of Metal Contacts to Monolayer Transition-Metal Dichalcogenide Semiconductors

Among various 2D materials, monolayer transition-metal dichalcogenide (mTMD) semiconductors with intrinsic band gaps (1–2 eV) are considered promising candidates for channel materials in next-generation transistors. Low-resistance metal contacts to mTMDs are crucial because currently they limit mTMD device performances. Hence, a comprehensive understanding of the atomistic nature of metal conta...
